The Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) conference is one of the biggest conferences in the developmental field, gathering scientists from all over the world under the same roof every two years. Interestingly, this year the roof was digital, with a virtual conference that saw hundreds of experts coming together and discussing the latest findings in child development. Some members of our lab also contributed important knowledge on the gut microbiota (Yangwenshan Ou); probiotics and cortisol, and interventions to enhance cognitive functions across development (Bonnie Erin Brett); Skin-to-skin contact (Nicole Rheinheimer); biobehavioural synchrony, and COVID-19 effects in pregnancy (Stefania Vacaru), under the supervision of Carolina de Weerth. During the three days of SRCD, many insights were gained and many ideas were shared.
