Our Lab at the International Congress for Infant Studies (ICIS) 2026

Our Lab’s participation in the International Congress for Infant Studies (ICIS) was a great success! A team of our collaborators — Carolina de Weerth, Beyza Ustun-Elayan, Esmee Breddels, Evie Brinkman, and Noor de Waal — travelled to Panama to present our research and engage with colleagues from the international infant and developmental science community.

A particular highlight was the symposium on infant sleep, co-chaired by Beyza Ustun-Elayan and Noor de Waal. The symposium brought together researchers from different institutions and countries to exchange perspectives and discuss current research on sleep and development. We were also pleased to contribute our own findings on room sharing and adolescent sleep quality.

We would like to thank Elain Barry from Penn State Fayette and Monika Abels from the Arctic University of Norway for their participation, enthusiasm, and valuable contributions to the symposium.

Conferences such as ICIS provide an important opportunity to share findings, exchange ideas, and foster international collaborations. We are grateful for the inspiring discussions and connections made in Panama and look forward to continuing these collaborations in the future.
