VNOP-CAS Research Days 2025

On November 20–21, our postdoctoral researcher, Beyza Ustun-Elayan, and PhD candidate, Nina Bruinhof, attended the VNOP-CAS Research Days 2025 in Nijmegen. These research days bring together researchers in developmental psychology and pedagogical sciences from the Netherlands and Belgium.

Beyza presented the BIBO cohort profile paper (in preparation), outlining the baseline characteristics, measures, and key findings from the BIBO study — a longitudinal cohort that has followed families for nearly two decades, from pregnancy through late adolescence, and has generated a wide range of publications. Nina presented her PhD work (manuscript is under review) on infant colic, examining the link between early crying patterns and children’s internalizing problems, and assessing whether these associations are moderated by maternal childhood trauma and attachment styles, using BIBO data.

Across the two-day event, Beyza and Nina attended workshops, talks, and poster sessions on a wide range of topics within developmental science, and had the opportunity to speak with colleagues working with related methods and research questions.

We appreciated the opportunity to present our work and to take part in this year’s VNOP-CAS Research Days, and we look forward to next year’s event.
