Maria Maddalena Brambilla – Visiting Researcher

Maria Maddalena Brambilla

I am Maria Maddalena Brambilla, a visiting post-doc at the Developmental PsychoBiology Laboratory, DPBLab, with the Prof. Carolina deWeerth. I am a psychologist, specialized in physiology and perinatal psychology, and PhD in Neuroscience. I am interested to study the pre- and post-natal protective and risk factors on the infant development and their influence on the caregiver-infant relationship in order to promote preventive and support interventions for the infant health and parent-infant relationship. My PhD project was about the pre- and post-natal environmental exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (i.e., through lifestyle and nutritional habits as well as placenta, breastmilk or formula milk) and their influence on infant growth and neurobehavioral development in the first year of life. Currently, as visiting post-doc at the DPB Lab, I’m working about: (i) the role of some breastmilk components on the infant development in the first years of life; (ii) the relationship between the sleep process and creativity in the adolescence populations.
