Beyza Ustun-Elayan – Postdoc

Beyza Ustun-Elayan

I am a developmental scientist studying the first 1,000 days from conception as a foundation for lifelong health and development. My research explores how maternal and environmental factors, such as diet, microbiome, and stress, shape fetal programming and children’s sensory, behavioural, and cognitive outcomes. I address these questions through longitudinal studies including BIBO, SKIPPY, and SMILEY, while also building on expertise in 4D ultrasound imaging to investigate fetal behaviours and the prenatal origins of development.
