SAMI Study
Samen met Mini
Skin-to-skin contact (SSC) refers to an infant wearing only a diaper being placed on a caregiver’s bare chest. In preterm infants, infants born at term, and their parents, SSC is associated with positive outcomes. Because of its well-known benefits, SSC is strongly recommended by global health organizations. However, the mechanisms behind the positive effects of SSC on parents and infants are largely unknown.
In the SAMI study, we examine the role of stress as a potential underlying mechanism of the effects of SSC.
