We’re looking for a student assistant!

Research focus

The Developmental Psychobiology Lab, led by Prof. Dr. Carolina de Weerth, investigates how early life – specifically pregnancy and the early postnatal years – influences development throughout the lifespan. Research in the DPB lab focuses on: the influences of prenatal maternal mental wellbeing on children’s health and behavioral development, the development of the physiological stress response system in children and its relation to behavioral and emotional regulation and physical health, and the development of the intestinal microbiota and its relation to children’s developmental outcomes.

The student assistant chosen for this position will engage with multiple ongoing projects covering these topics and will complete a wide variety of research tasks that may include participant recruitment, testing, and communications, preparation, and implementation, and data entry, cleaning and management. For studies that are currently busy with data collection, participants are also collecting samples at home. Another task would be to schedule home visits to pick up these testing materials (e.g., questionnaires, biological samples).

We are looking for a student assistant with a background in Psychology, Cognitive Sciences, Neuroscience, or related disciplines. The ideal candidate is:

  • Fluent in spoken and written Dutch
  • Highly organized and precise with logistic skills
