ICIS Conference 2020

We joined this year’s (virtual) International Congress of Infant Studies

The International Congress of Infant Studies (ICIS) organises a scientific conference on infant development every 2 years. This year, due to Covid-19, the ICIS conference had to take place online. Several members of our lab joined the virtual conference (vICIS) in the week of 6th June out of their homes. Just as in a live conference, we got to choose from a variety of symposia, poster presentations and webinars, covering a broad spectrum of infant development. Four members of our lab presented posters themselves, via pre-recorded video presentations.

A great advantage of this year’s vICIS was that we can still go back and watch the recordings of sessions that we’ve enjoyed or missed. Although the variety of topics was very extensive and interesting, we came to the conclusion that online conferences cannot entirely replace the interactive experience of a “real life” conference.
